What'll it be?

In honor of our complete excitement (we can hardly wait!), we've posted a poll on the right to get all of your thoughts.... What's A&K Burningham baby #2 going to be? Our ultrasound is scheduled for next Monday, June 9th, when we'll find out (hopefully!) the gender of our sweet little one. You have until then to cast your vote!

Here I am at 22 weeks along... we're getting there!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great time this last weekend, visiting Steve & Nicole in Iowa! How generous they were opening their home to us, and taking us around town (& out of town to Nauvoo for one day!) Alex and Drew made friends pretty quickly, and had a blast together. Sunday night the four of us adults sat at the dinner table talking for probably 40 minutes, while the boys played endlessly downstairs. It was so fun to hear the laughter and giggles the whole time. They're quite the little adventurists-- they figured that if they pushed the pack'n'play right up to the bed, they could climb up onto the bed, and then jump back into the pack'n'play. Smart boys :)

After a few years of not hanging out with Steve and Nicole, we'd forgotten how much fun we can have together! Nicole and I had a blast talking about anything and everything Twilight, while the guys patiently (sometimes :) waited. Andy fell in love with all of Steve's books, he could have taken home the bookshelf! We all had some good laughs and an all around great time! Thanks guys!

Here we are in front of the Nauvoo Temple. (Alex had fallen asleep in the car)

What a beautiful view! We're standing in front of the statue of Joseph & Hyrum Smith, with the Mississippi River in the background

Alex + Drew... Good Friends already! :)

The Whole Gang-- we had so much fun!

Like Father, Like Son

Drew loves his dad!! He follows him around like a little shadow from the minute Andy gets home from work to the minute Drew goes to bed. Here are some pictures of Drew 'following' in Andy's footsteps! :)

Dad's bubblegum bubbles are so cool!

Loves to walk in Daddy's shoes

Helping dad to mow the lawn, or "vacuuming"-- so he calls it :)

I've been Tagged!

So, I've never done one of these things, but I was tagged by Nicole, so here we go... I'll give it a shot!

two names you go by:
1. Kimra
2. KB (although, And is the only one who ever really calls me this)

two things you are wearing right now:
1. old jeans
2. t-shirt-- it's been a long cleaning day, and I'm grateful for this break!

two of your favorite things to do:
1. Play at the park on a nice day with Andy & Drew
2. Read Novels (although I often have a hard time with self control-- putting the book down to actually get something done, so I try not to get caught up in novels too often :)

two things you want very badly at the moment:
1. A nice hot meal to be magically made for me in the kitchen... not sure what, just anything I don't have to make!
2. My sweet child to fall asleep (he's been in his room for a while now trying to get to that point....)

Favorite pets:
1. Bogart the parrot
2. Dutchy the dalmation (I doubt Andy and I will ever get a pet of our own- neither of us are too big on them, so I'll enjoy the memories of pets from my childhood!)

Two people who will fill this out:
1. Jill?
2. Kristen?

Two things you did last night:
1. Helped set up for, run, and clean up a wedding reception at the church for two fairly recent converts in our ward.
2. Finished Eclipse, by Stephenie Meyer for the 2nd time in 5 days.... yeah, I'm a little addicted! I just want more, so I figured I'd read it again, and Andy's out of town currently so I could get away with doing nothing but read all night :o) -- this might explain my #2 answer to the 'favorite things to do' question --

two things you ate today:
1. Rice Crispies
2. Granola Bar.... still waiting for that magical hot meal in the kitchen for lunch :o)

two people you last talked to:
1. Drew
2. My two piano students and their mom

two things you're doing tomorrow:
1. Spending time (yeah!) with my Andy since he's been gone all week, and gets home tonight!
2. Going to Stake Training, then the adult session of Stake Conference

two longest car rides:
1. South Beloit, IL to Tampa, FL (like Nicole said, any drive with a screaming child feels about 3 times it's actual length! We'll never drive from here to FL again without stopping!)
2. Rexburg, ID to Puyallup, WA (it's only really long when you get stranded in a small town in OR because the snow storm has caused the highway to close....)

two favorite holidays:
1. Christmas
2. Memorial Day (starting summer is always great!)

two favorite vacations:
1. Going to Daytona Beach, FL for our honeymoon
2. Hawaii with my family after I graduated HS

two favorite drinks:
1. Water!
2. Any kind of fruit smoothie, if that counts as a drink

I tag Jill B and Kristen P!

Drew's New Bed

Yay! Drew is growing up so quick! He's in his own 'real' bed now. We got a little toddler bed from some friends of ours in the ward, and decided to get Drew started in it as soon as possible. We want him to be used to it before baby comes. We've got it in his room, next to his crib for now, until the time for baby comes closer. He does pretty good in it- naps are sometimes a little tricky. He usually gets up and starts playing around, and I think the majority of the time he ends up falling asleep on the floor :o) Silly Kid.

Construction, Construction, Construction!!!!

We are so entirely grateful to my parents and grandparents for their trip here to visit us and help us get going on our basement!! We never could have completed what we did without them. Andy and I have a lot to learn when it comes to building/construction/electrical/etc/etc/etc. In about 6 1/2 days the three men (my 81 year old grandfather-- what a guy!--, my dad, and my adorable hubby) were able to complete all the framing, electrical, heating/duct work, door hanging, and storage room shelf building. It may not seem like too much until you take into consideration that our basement is 1300 square feet!!!! That's quite a week's job for just those three men. AND my grandma, who was my grandpa's right hand girl (literally-- he doesn't have a right thumb, which limits a lot of what he can do :o). She was so great to be such a huge help! On top of all this: we were able to get a plumber in here while they were working, so all the plumbing is complete as well. Woohoo!!!! All in all, we'll have down there: a bedroom, den, family room, toy/game room, full bathroom, and two decent sized storage rooms! We're so excited-- when it's all said and done-- our house will be double the size it is now! Yeah!

Andy and I are set to go! Now we've got to get working on all the insulation, so that we can get going on all the sheetrock, so that we can hopefully have at least one room and the bathroom done enough to be 'livable' for when we've got Andy's entire family here (all 20 people in our little house) for the Burningham family reunion. We're so, so grateful, though to my family who helped us get this major, huge head start! They're so awesome!! They just left this morning, and it's already a very quiet, lonely day at our house! Good thing we've got baby coming in about 6 months when my mom gets to come back! Yea! Drew sure had a great time with all the attention he recieved from the 6 adults here who all love him-- he'll be glad to have family back in town again!

Here are some pics from our adventures. I didn't get enough of them while they were working-- I got the whole process on video, but wasn't too good about pictures. Most of these were taken on the last day-- when we were all done :o)

Drew and Grandpa Clayson (my dad) cuddling while we all watch Americal Idol

Drew and Grandma Julie (my mom). Drew is oh so happy because Grandma gave him chocolate pudding - yum!

Drew and Mommy doing what we do best: watching and cheering on the guys!

This sign says it all (B&B are my grandparents: Bevan and Betty!)

Amoxicillin Allergy

Poor Drew! We've had family here for the last two weeks, but the weekend prior to their arrival we were all sick at our house (no fun!). Andy and I were hit pretty hard with fevers, sore throat, aches, etc. We thought we were lucky and it didn't get to Drew... until late Sunday night/Monday. He didn't sleep at all. He didn't have a fever, but was very irritable, and was obviously in pain. I took him into the Dr. on Monday to find out he had a double ear infection. Poor little guy! In all his 27 months of life, Drew has never had one before, so this was all new for us. We went to the pharmacy to get his first ever medication for the infection: Amoxicillin. He started on it, and within a day he was acting fine and happy (thank goodness, family was coming into town that day!) Then, all of a sudden the next Monday-- after being on the antibiotic for 1 week, he broke out in this terrible rash. It quickly spread over his whole body. We took him to the Dr. again, where he determined that Drew has an allergy to amoxicillin. SO, hopefully we won't have a go around with antibiotics again for a while, but the next time we do: it won't be amoxicillin. Here is a picture of our sweet little rashed up boy-- this is after 24 hours of benadryl-- the rash had already completely cleared up on his face, and had lightened all over the rest of his body.

Oh, and my child will not smile for the camera without closing his eyes anymore :o) What a goof!
