Grant David BurninghamWe are so happy to have this sweet little boy as a part of our family! He made his grand entrance to this world at 5:27 am on Saturday,
October 11, 2008. Grant weighed in at
8 lbs. 10 oz. and is
21 1/2 inches long. He is healthy, well, adorable, so mellow, happy, a great eater, a great sleeper, easy going, beautiful, and just simply perfect!
After getting my membranes stripped for the
3rd time last Friday morning, I had decided that maybe my body just doesn't go into labor on it's own (I was induced with Drew). I decided to test the waters and really try to get labor going that day-- we were determined to have this baby! So, I spent the day Friday mowing the lawn, cleaning the house, vacuuming, going on lots of walks, and we topped it off with a trip to the corn maze as a family that night. At about 10 pm I was still not in labor and pretty bummed... I went to bed, only to be awoken at 10:40 with contractions. ("Woohooo!!" was my first thought) I woke Andy up at about 12:30 am, and by 12:31 am he was dressed and ready to go with the car already running! (Andy's always wanted the experience of getting up in the middle of the night.. the only thing missing was the police escort :) We got to the hospital at about 1am, and by about 5:30 am he was here!

Drew is already in love with his new little brother. He has pictures that he drew of our family hanging on the door as a welcome sign for Grant (with the help of an awesome grandma!). He always wants to hold, hug, and kiss 'baby Gant'- as he calls him Ü

This afternoon when I went to put Drew down for a nap, he was very sad that he had to leave the baby. What a sweet older brother he is!! He's such a helper and very happy to have a baby at our house. We'll see how long the excitement lasts.... ;)

Andy and I are still feeling like life is a little surreal... two kids?! Can we do this?! he he We're so happy and excited about our new life, though-- we wouldn't have it any other way. Both of our boys are so precious and adorable.
We are very blessed!
