Visitors

That won't leave!!

Early last month a robin tried a few times to build her nest on the wreath on our front door. Not wanting that to happen, I eventually took down the wreath. She found a nice little spot on our gutter, built her nest, had four babies, and a couple of weeks ago they were all grown and gone.

I thought, "Good, let's get that wreath back up." My front door is too bare without it.

Now yesterday, as I answered the door for the babysitter, she jumped and said, "Uhh... did you know you have baby birds on your wreath?"

What?!?! Didn't I take down the wreath to avoid this very thing?

Sure enough, there they are-- 5 little baby birds nestled up in their own waste (yuck!)

So, what choice do I have other than to not use my door until they're grown up and gone? None, I guess :) -- I do not want any birds flying into my house! --

One thing I know for sure... that wreath is headed straight for the garbage once those birds are gone! No more wreaths for me- they must be much to homey.

Oh Brother...

While looking at pictures of his cousin Ben holding his brand new baby sister, Brooklyn, Drew said:

"I remember when Grant was born and I was holding him.... but then he growed up too fast"

Yeah, I hear ya buddy :)

and btw, you're growing up too fast too!

In Love with Locomotives

Oh boy, are my kids ever :)

We heard about a "Train Park" about an hour from us-- a little park built around a few tracks where 80-90 trains come through each day. We had to go. When Grandma and Grandpa Burningham were here was the perfect time!

In the hour we were there, we saw about 5 trains come through- not bad! Heaven for two little kids in love with trains :)

While they were here we also went on a bike ride to the famous little bridge by our house- built in 1888!

Thanks for coming to visit Grandma & Grandpa- we always love it when you're here! Come again soon! :)

Gotta love humidity

Okay, just kidding on that one... not really. BUT, even though the weather was out of control-- we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to FL to spend time with my family!! Always a good, relaxing time in store when we head there!
Started out the trip right with Grandpa pulling the kids around on the sleeping bag :)

Drew loved playing the wii with Adam :)

Loved the pool... as always :)

Building sand castles at Clearwater Beach with Grandma Julie

Touching Sting Rays at Lowry Park Zoo

Our one day at Magic Kingdom was jam-packed full, but so fun and so worth it!

Waiting, waiting, waiting for the rides :)

The Castle!

And Laura, my sister-in-law, worked really hard ;) to make sure our new little nephew, Taylor, came before we had to head back home. Sweet little baby boy!!

We love our family!

Shelling Peas

We have a {SMALL} garden this year... I mean really small. But hey, you've got to start somewhere, right?

Today was eventful for me because we picked pea pods off the plants and shelled our peas. Drew was a big helper :) Mmmm... fresh peas with dinner tonight!

This One (or 12) is for Andy

While walking around Central Park, we came across a bench with a plaque that said, "For Andy With all my Love" or something like that. We all laughed and thought it was pretty ironic that we noticed it.

As we looked down the row of benches, we noticed that about 12 of them were all "For Andy". Then, we saw the tree with the big rock underneath that had inscripted on it, "For Andy who I love with all my heart" Wow! This is his place! So we took a picture:

Andy's response to all this praise? "At least someone finally appreciates me" ;)

Andy declared that this should be his final resting spot. Of course, he takes all the credit for whatever great things this other "Andy" accomplished. ha ha
