Check out those Sausages :)

-- okay, am I the only one who didn't know about the world famous sausage races at Milwaukee Brewers games?? --
Can I just say that my husband is awesome?!? For many reasons, of course, but for the purposes of this blog post I will name just two :)
1. He does amazing service in the community just because he wants to give and help, but it just so happens that some of that service scored us a free hotel stay in downtown Milwaukee
2. He is so sweet, and planned out an entire night away with no kid(s). -- we took Grant since he is still nursing at night, but he was so good! --
I was completely surprised when he came home early yesterday afternoon, and said we needed to pack to go somewhere over night!!!! Thanks to our good friends, the Stewarts, for watching Drew for us :) He loves it there, and I'm sure didn't even miss us!
Waiting in the car while daddy checks into the hotel-- he was so happy to 'drive'!

Can't go to Milwaukee, WI without seeing a Brewers game! (plus, I think the only other thing people do there is drink-- we're obviously out of that activity :)

It was wierd to see all the tailgaters-- we'd never seen so many at a baseball game. Literally every row in the parking lot had at least one tailgate party going on-- I think this proves my point about the two most popular things to do in Milwaukee :)
We sat in the very, very, very top row-- I was feeling the 'acrophobe' (is that even a word?? :) coming out in me

Walking along Lake Michigan this morning

All tuckered out :) On the way home today Grant was doing the "little indian thing", and fell asleep right in the middle of it. So cute!

Fresh OJ and Tractors
Well, that works :)
All about Alligators
...and Crocodiles.

Last week Drew and I went to his first ever story time at the library... if you can believe that. Anyway, he loved it!!! When he was sitting with all the kids, he kept looking over at me (I was sitting in the back w/ the moms), smiling, and giving me a big 'thumbs up'! It was so cute-- melted my heart!
He made this cool alligator cap, and has worn it just about every day since. Tomorrow we go and learn about pigs. I'm trying to get better at making time to do this for Drew-- he's so good and comes along with me patiently (for the most part) for everything I have to do for Relief Society--he definitely deserves some fun stuff like this :)

Looking for Lincoln

This week we were able to attend the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield, IL. We had Andy's parent's in town, and they had never been, so we made the trip. It's always worth it to go there! That is above and beyond my favorite museum of all time. Pres. Lincoln was awesome!!!! My respect for him and the way in which he led the country through one of our worst trials in its history grows each time I go.
The Lord has had a hand in the development and growth of this country-- that's for sure! When Lincoln gave a speech in Springfield before he left to go the White House, he said, "Without the guidance of That Divine Being... I cannot succeed". I know that the Lord blessed and strengthened him and those who served with him-- along with all those who fought and gave their lives for the freedom that our country was founded on. We are so blessed!!
Here we all are with Pres Lincoln and his family :)

We love Chicago
Last week we had my brother and his wife here for a visit. It was a lot of fun getting to spend time with them. We took one day and headed into the city. It was perfect temperature, but so cloudy and overcast.... the only bad thing about that was that it ruined plans to head up the Sears Tower. Oh well-- they'll just have to come back :)
Drew fell in love with them, and kept saying, "I wove Steven and Wuarwa!" (he can say his L's, so he said Laura so cute!)
