One Month

I can't believe little Grant is already one month old! He was just born yesterday- where does the time go?! He is starting to smile and coo more and more, which is so much fun! Drew still loves having his little brother here as well. He's such a good big brother-- always helping (i.e. splashing water all over during Grant's baths, pushing the pacifier into Grant's mouth, and putting blankets on Grant's face.... Drew loves to "help"!)

We are so blessed and we love our two sweet little boys!!!!

Happy Halloween

Trick-or-Treating was such a blast with our little pirate! He was the cutest kid in the neighborhood (at least we think so :) Since last year Drew didn't get the idea of Halloween, we were so excited for this year.... and boy does he get it now! He got soooo much candy, and was so excited about it! I can't believe the amount he got-- seriously! He was loving it so much, he was out going from house to house for just over and hour last night. Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Chelsey were all here, so he had plenty of adults to follow him around :)

This is pre-candy heaven:

And this is post-candy heaven: (imagine that amount of candy multiplied by about FIVE, and that's how much candy we have at our house.... oh boy, does anyone want some?!? :)

Our happy family on our first Halloween together with little Grant. Of course, he slept/ate through it all in the comfort of home Ü

He cries each time I take him into the other room for a nap, loves to hug and kiss him, and loves to give him little stuffed toys to play with :) What a great big brother! Here are some pictures of the two of them.... oh how I love these boys!!!

Monday Morning

This morning is going just a little too perfectly....

I have one son happily playing with his train set while Lazytown plays in the background:

I have another son peacefully sleeping in his bassinet:

And I have been able to get a shower in and have a minute to sit and blog all before 10 am!! I was so worried about this day-- my first day on my own. My sweet mom left yesterday morning (sad day- I wish she were back already!!!), and today Andy's back to work; which leaves me here with two kids all on my own. Things, though, are going very well so far.

What am I in for this afternoon?!?

By the way, I love love love these three boys!

Announcing...

Grant David Burningham

We are so happy to have this sweet little boy as a part of our family! He made his grand entrance to this world at 5:27 am on Saturday, October 11, 2008. Grant weighed in at 8 lbs. 10 oz. and is 21 1/2 inches long. He is healthy, well, adorable, so mellow, happy, a great eater, a great sleeper, easy going, beautiful, and just simply perfect!

After getting my membranes stripped for the 3rd time last Friday morning, I had decided that maybe my body just doesn't go into labor on it's own (I was induced with Drew). I decided to test the waters and really try to get labor going that day-- we were determined to have this baby! So, I spent the day Friday mowing the lawn, cleaning the house, vacuuming, going on lots of walks, and we topped it off with a trip to the corn maze as a family that night. At about 10 pm I was still not in labor and pretty bummed... I went to bed, only to be awoken at 10:40 with contractions. ("Woohooo!!" was my first thought) I woke Andy up at about 12:30 am, and by 12:31 am he was dressed and ready to go with the car already running! (Andy's always wanted the experience of getting up in the middle of the night.. the only thing missing was the police escort :) We got to the hospital at about 1am, and by about 5:30 am he was here!

Drew is already in love with his new little brother. He has pictures that he drew of our family hanging on the door as a welcome sign for Grant (with the help of an awesome grandma!). He always wants to hold, hug, and kiss 'baby Gant'- as he calls him Ü

This afternoon when I went to put Drew down for a nap, he was very sad that he had to leave the baby. What a sweet older brother he is!! He's such a helper and very happy to have a baby at our house. We'll see how long the excitement lasts.... ;)

Andy and I are still feeling like life is a little surreal... two kids?! Can we do this?! he he We're so happy and excited about our new life, though-- we wouldn't have it any other way. Both of our boys are so precious and adorable. We are very blessed!

Apparently, my body loves being pregnant

I guess both Grant and my body (without my permission, mind you...) have decided that they like life the way it is. I, on the other hand, am soooo anxious to get this little guy here! The official due date is tomorrow, when I have my- hopefully- final doctor's visit and I'll have an ultrasound to check on him and everything. We'll see from there. My mom comes into town on Saturday (YAY!!), and we're hoping to have him here by then.

Last night Drew made a prediciton. The conversation went a little something like this:

Me: "Drew, is the baby coming soon?"
Drew: "No"
Aunt Chelsey: "Is the baby coming tomorrow?"
Drew: "Yes!"
Aunt Chelsey: "Is the baby coming tomorrow morning, or tomorrow afternoon?"
Drew: "NO! Night!"
Me: "Tomorrow night?"
Drew: "Yeah. Night. Waters. Whoooooosh."

So, we figure he's trying to tell us my water will break tonight. Ha ha ha (Mind you, he really has no idea what's about to happen!) We'll see if he's right....

Keep checking for pictures! I vow to not post again until we're a family of four! Ü

Here's a random picture of Drew and his friend Ava that I took today-- they're one month apart exactly, and have been buddies since birth!
