Bring on the Water Slides

This past Thursday, we took a quick day trip up to Mount Olympus Water Park. As you can tell from the pics, the boys had a blast, and so did Andy and I. We love living close to the water park capitol of the world!!! :) They don't call these lazy rivers for nothin' :) Grant was a happy camper with all the water splashing around! Brother bonding time! New meaning to crash landing :)

Drew's Birthday List

Drew's birthday is not until January 28th, but he has just recently figured out that he can ask for things for that special day. If ever we say, "No, you can't have that" (whatever it may be), he will instantly say, "How about for my birthday?!?"

Well, he's 3-- is he really going to remember if I said he could have it for his birthday once January rolls around? I don't think so. (I'm hoping not anyway :)

Hence, my new generic answer to this question is, "Sure, you can have that for your birthday."

Here's a running list of his birthday wishes:

So, what do you think? A pretty reasonable list, eh? :)

Spaghettif-a-WHAT?!?!

Anyone heard of spaghettification? Seriously, it's a technical term! :)

Did you know that if you get close to a black hole, the pull of it is so strong that you'll actually be stretched out as it sucks you in?? I didn't know that until yesterday! It's officially called: spaghettification! Isn't that funny?! Here are some pictures to illustrate this concept:

Drew was laughing so hard looking at himself in these mirrors!

We love the fact that all the big, nice museums in Chicago have free days! We took advantage yesterday, and went to the Adler Planetarium. Andy took the day off to come along and we had a blast!!!

Drew experienced his first ever 3-D movie. Andy and I got nothing out of the educational film due the fact that we could not stop laughing as Drew constantly tried to grab all the planets and stars coming straight for his face! It was hilarious!

So, beware of spaghettification!! :) For some reason, that term just caught me so funny! I can't stop laughing...

D's New Fad

So, Drew's new thing is sunglasses. He wants to wear them all the time. In fact, as I type this he is sleeping soundly in his bed with a pair of sunglasses on his face!! :)

Anyway, the other night we were at Andy's volleyball game, and we had forgotten Drew's glasses. So, naturally, I lent him mine. This is how he wore them almost the entire night! What a funny kid!

"What's so funny, mom??"

I love my boys! :)

My Life

I was talking with my mom earlier today, and somehow the blog came up. I was telling her how I've been in a blogging rut lately.

"I just don't have any 'big events' to blog about....", I said, "I feel like every post I do is about my kids."

"Yes", said my wise mother :), "But, your kids are your life, and isn't that what your blog is all about anyway?"

So true, mom, so true. My family is my life, and I'm so grateful for them each and every day!!!

So, here you have it-- yet another post about my kids :)

My sweet little baby just cut his first tooth! He also loves to smile for the camera And, here's his "happy noise"-- it makes me laugh whenever he does it :)

With all the nice weather we've been spending a lot more time outdoors. Last week sometime, Drew was having the time of his life with a frisbee. He got himself laughing so hard throwing that thing around... I had fun catching it all on camera :) On Saturday Andy and I turned the music up loud to just dance around/get a little exercise in. Drew will normally just 'rock' in his chair. But, this particular day he chose to get up and dance with us! So cute, so funny! Too bad I didn't think to get the camera out until he was running low on gas :)

Last Friday, I realized I have a little animal!
A turtle,

A kangaroo,

Always a monkey,

But, at the end of the day, I guess they're all just boys after all :)

And what did Drew think of his trip to the zoo? Here's what he had to say:
"Mommy, I wanna go the blue zoo with NO animals on it!"

Looks like we need to go over just what a zoo is :)
