The Big 4!

My little guy is four years old today! Wow- hard to believe, but so much fun! He's such an important part of our family-- we love having him here with us, and can't imagine life any other way.

Andy got the day off and we fully intend to play, laugh, run, tickle, and do "4 year old" stuff all day long :) I can't wait!

--Here's Drew at 2 months old-- He's certainly grown up!

CARS and Us

I'm beginning to realize the affect that the movie Cars has had on our family and our household....

You know how in my previous post I mentioned that Grant was in love with this movie? Well, the last few days the affection he has for it has multiplied ten fold-- it's all he wants to watch or play with!

Then, here are just a few of the comments that have been coming out of Drew's mouth lately:

"Yeah, I slept lightning good last night!"

"Look at me! I'm lightning fast!"

(at the store when I said no to purcahsing a new blanket for him) "But MOM..... I need that blanket so I can be lightning comfortable!"

"Look at these cars-- they're lightning cool!"

Yeah, my boys are Cars fanatics. I don't know if this is good or bad...... :) But, I sure do love those boys!

A few of Grant's Favorite Things.....

"Singing" out of dad's mini hymn book. He'll carry this thing all around the house and just look at all the pages :)

Cars--the movie and/or case. If he's watching the movie, he's happy. If I say, 'No we're not watching Cars again', he's usually content to even just carry the movie case around the house.

Playing with balls. He'll shoot them in the hoop, throw them in the toy basket, and he'll even throw them at me and say, "Casssch".

Not only that, but he gets totally into watching basketball games too! Last week weekend we went to a girls HS game and Andy's church ball game. Both times Grant was so into it-- clapping at the right time, and totally watching. So funny!

Making his family laugh!!

Man, I love this kid!

Now that Grant is getting older, the boys are beginning to really play together, and there is no one that can get Grant laughing like Drew can.... I love it!

Merry Christmas!

This year we had such a great time in Utah celebrating Christmas- it was hard to pack up and fly home yesterday. With all 22 members of the Burningham family together, we sure did a lot of laughing, dancing, game playing, talking, and just having a great time! I did not get as many pictures as I would have liked, but here's a real quick run down of our good ol' time :)

Santa and Mrs. Claus (aka a couple in my in-law's ward) came to visit the kids on Christmas Eve. Can you tell how much Grant loved it? ;)

Claire (age 2 1/2) wanted nothing more than to hold her cousin Baby Grant- who is just about as tall as her and weighs more than she does. I couldn't resist this picture of him squishing her :) She is so sweet and just loved him to bits!

Drew's first ice skating experience

It's a party at the family dance/kareoke night! What fun!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Here's to a great 2010!

O Christmas Train, O Christmas Train....

In the mind of Drew, trains are IT. I mean, this boy loves trains! So, when a sweet elderly lady in our ward called yesterday to tell me that she wanted my boys to have her late husband's Christmas Train, I graciously accepted.

We went straight home from picking it up, tried to set it up around the Christmas Tree (it's too big for the small space we have there) , and eventually got it all set up in Drew's room. Boy, is he excited!

Grant loves it just as much, but doesn't quite have the self restraint to not continually pull it off the tracks. Drew is so sweet with him, and gently puts his arm around him as they watch it go round and round (whether it's done out of love or restraint, I'm still not sure-- I honestly think it's a little of both :)

Man, I love these kids!!

{Grant is laughing}

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

There's nothing like a good snowstorm to really get you in the mood for the holidays. That's exactly what we've had the last two days, and I love it!

I love looking out my window to snow covered trees-- so beautiful!

This morning Andy was out shoveling the 8 + inches off of our driveway, so we all decided to go out and join him.

This is the first time Grant has experienced snow, and I think he really loves it.

(Even when his brother packs snow all around him in his sled)

Drew had a blast, no matter how long it took him to get up after he'd fall (due to the many layers in an effort to keep him warm :)

And, the first Bham Family Snowman of the '09-'10 winter (mohawk and all :)
