Fall is here!

On the way home from church this afternoon Andy and I decided that fall really is here! It's a cool, overcast day today and you can just feel it. So, I had to change our blog from a summer theme to a fall theme :)

Last week was Drew's first "Special Day" at preschool. Moms are invited to stay on their child's special day, so I did-- much to Drew's dismay. Here's how the conversation went:

Me- "Drew- it's your special day tomorrow at school!"

Drew- "What does that mean?"

Me- "Well, you get to be Miss Karrie's special helper, you get to be in the front of the line, and you get to bring something for show and tell!"

Drew- "YES!!!!!!!!!"

Me- "AND .... mommy gets to come to school with you!"

Drew- "NOOOOO, I DON'T WANT YOU TO COME WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!"

We'll just leave it at-- a good bribe for a subway sandwich will get him every time-- I went :) I also had to promise him that I would sit in the corner and he would hardly know I was there.

I guess the kid loves his newfound freedom from mom at school ;)

About 10 minutes into class I overheard him laughing with some other kids at his table-- saying a word that's not necessarily allowed at our house. I said, "Drew, don't say that bud." He goes, "Mom, you're supposed to be hiding in the corner, remember?" Right.

After a while, though, I think he started having fun with me there and by the end didn't seem to mind at all. They were 'nature detectives' and went outside looking for things that are changing with the cooler weather. They were so cute!! Seriously. A bunch of four year olds walking around with their little magnifying glasses-- classic!

My little man is all grown up :)

If going to preschool makes him all grown up-- I can't believe he's old enough for that already!

I'm thrilled thinking about all the fun things he'll be doing! He had an absolute blast on his first day-- something I'm sure will not change. He's already counting down to Thursday, when he gets to go again.

I don't know who was more excited yesterday- me or him. What a fun time-- I can't believe the range of emotions I feel. In one breath I'm completely excited and in the other I'm wishing he was my little baby again-- it goes by too fast! BUT, I am really loving this part of life, and find myself mostly giddy with excitement for him!

Here, he's too excited to get to his work-- he didn't look at me long enough to get him smiling at the camera ;)

The Little Couple, Part 2

On a play date the other day, my son and his cute little friend (a.k.a. wife) go for a cruise on the wiggle car.

Then, he treats her to a cheese stick for a quick snack...

Before they're off again!

Until next time.

Adventures of G Warrior

Never, ever leave your 20 month old to color while you take a shower-- even with a four year old 'watching' him :) Need I say more?

I'm sure most of you already know this.... I'm a little slow :)

He's really nice to have around

One thing I hate about this time of year is the flies.... argh! And, with little guys running in and out all day long, they are always plentiful around here.
Try as I may, and can rarely get one with a swatter. --I guess some hand-eye cooridnation would be helpful :)- I used to just wait for Andy to get home and get 'em all for me. Lately, though, we haven't had to wait. This little Mr. is quite the fly catcher! Seriously. He loves doing it, and I love him more for getting all those little pests out of the way.

{Imagine him exclaiming "Gotcha!" here :) }

Love these Kids

Grant is saying 'CHEESE!'

These two are good buddies! I love that they love the play together so well {most of the time ;) } I am so blessed to have them in my family!

Happy 6th Anniversary Love!

This was 6 1/2 years ago when Andy and I first started dating... I am so happy that I found him-- he is the best husband and father. He cracks us all up each day! I love him more and more each year!!!! So glad to be with him for eternity :)
